Canon Character Bio: [non-canon bio will be added as the character develops in his various games.]

New Year's Day, the year 1900 -- the first day of a new century. Danny Boodman, a stoker on the transatlantic steamer Virginian, discovers an infant boy abandoned in the ballroom in 1st Class, cradled in a small shipping crate labeled "T. D. Lemons." Danny adopts the boy and names him Danny Boodman T. D. Lemon Nineteen-Hundred. From then on, the boy is raised in the hull of the ship. Whe he is 8 years old, a rough storm and a heavy metal hook end Danny's life, leaving 1900 without a family or a home. Wandering the ship, he finds his way to 1st Class, where he hears music played on the very piano upon which he was left as a baby. That night, he slips into the ballroom, sits down at the instrument, and begins to play.

Forward 19 years. The boy has grown up on the ship, crossing the ocean 5 times a year but never once setting foot on land. Now the ship's resident jazz pianist, he meets Max Tooney, a trumpet player. The two become friends when, during a storm at sea, 1900 cures Max's sea sickness by riding the piano around the ballroom of the tilting ship, through the stained glass window, and straight into the Captain's cabin.

Over the following years, several interesting things happen. Jazz master Jelly Roll Morton hears of 1900's legendary piano skills and challanges him to a duel from which 1900 emerges the unquestionable winner. A record company also catches wind of the musician's talant. A single recording of 1900's music is made. By some odd stroke of fate, the song produced is the music of a girl who passes by the window and captures 1900's heart instantly. 1900 refuses to let the record be produced, intending instead to give it to the girl. She is ushered off the ship in a crowd before he can deliver it to her. He learns where she lives but nothing more--not even her name. Devistated, 1900 destroys the matrix and never mentions the girl again until some months later, when he announces to Max that he intends to leave the Virginian for the first time in his life. Max gives the plan his full approval. 1900 packs a suitcase and prepares to leave. He makes it half way down the gangplank before turning back, never giving a reason. The event weighs heavily on him -- he spends the following year or so in a deep depression, speaking little and throwing himself into his music. Then, as suddenly as the mood came upon him, it lifted one day and he was his old self again.

The year now is 1933. Max Tooney has recently left his job as trumpet player on the Virginian and has gone to seek a new life on land. 1900 remains the ship's resident pianist, entertaining the 1st Class passengers at their evening parties, spending his days in the instructive company of the immigrants flocking to America, and the stokers and ship's crew who make up the closest thing he's ever known to a family. The memory of the girl still haunts him, and he seeks in his music a way to dull the lonliness left in Max's absence.

He never leaves his ship. He never will leave it. He has found other ways to travel.
